Our Philosophy

our philosophy

A mindset is a settled way of thinking, an attitude that becomes the function of daily and consistent behavior. Your behavior, which could be in form of words, omissions or action, is the mirror through which other people’s perspectives of you are shaped and defined – what others will call your reputational identity. The kind of reputational identity a person or institution projects either opens up or closes out opportunities for progress.

When a way of thinking roots deep enough, it mutates into a belief system that in turn directs behavior that then itself gives birth to habits, traditions and eventually culture. In that regard, a belief system can be thought of as a set of values – or vices – that with time control self-will. Both values and vices are a behavioral boundary that is distinguishable by the degree to which it positively or negatively impacts on the bearer or others. A boundary on the other hand is a sphere within which one has responsibility to guard and maintain. With that in mind, we can define character as the ability to control one’s self-will in response to internal conflicts (emotional, intellectual and cultural) and external situations (acts of nature, law and other people’s behavior).
